The film is a prequel to Death Race that will explore the career of the original “Frankenstein”, car driver Carl “Luke” Lucas (Luke Goss), who died in a race at the beginning of the first film. Death Race 2 explores Luke’s life from his beginning as a bank robber until his death at the beginning of Death Race.
Ex-con Jensen Ames is forced by the warden of a notorious prison to compete in our post-industrial world's most popular sport: a car race in which inmates must brutalize and kill one another on the road to victory.
